In this highlight Zig Mandel shares his expertise in Google product development providing an overview of options for integrating Google Apps Script projects with Google Cloud services, in particular, comparing options for executing Node.js scripts as Google Cloud Functions, App Engine or Google Compute Engine.

Professionalizing Google Apps Script Development

In this highlight Steve Webster is joined by Bruce Mcpherson and Raul Flores, Jr. (rudy) exploring workflows for contributing and deploying Google App Script projects with multiple developers. As part of this Steve discusses how the Github Assistant Chrome Extension, Bruce builds on this by showing how deployed script projects, libraries and documentation can be automatically committed to Github and dependencies analysed with D3.js. Finally, Raul shares his ‘devflow’ outlining the tools he uses for Google Apps Script development including Atom, GitCraken and ZenHub.
